Subject: INVITATION, Cruising Ko’olina (West Oahu) - Hanalea Bay -

North Shore, Kauai – Ni’ihau – Lihue – and back to Ko’olina a 3-500 Nautical miles trip, with a lot of nothing to do time on Kauai, as well as a lot of pleasant sailing time all downwind or on the beam.

Aloha

I am planning a 10-12 day sailing cruise from Ko’olina, West-Oahu to Hanalai Bay Kauai, sailing around North Shore of Kauai – Ni’ihau – and back to Ko’olina from July 26th to August 8th, 2008.  Tracy Ann will Buddy up during the entire trip with Rhapsody from Alawai in Honolulu (a 40’ Sloop with thousand of offshore miles under the keel,  and numerous trips around Kauai )

Onboard Rhapsody will be Skipper Bruce Curtis from Maui with a crew of 5 from Honolulu , and Mainland US .  (This is a confirmed boat already)

Saturday July 26th  We leave mid afternoon from Ko’olina sailing overnight to Kauai a 15-20 hour sail Arriving in Hanalei Bay around Lunchtime Sunday.

We will drop anchor and everybody is on their own, and free to come and go for the next week or so.      The closest town is a 20 min. walk from the beach.

NOTE: I will need to know who is staying onboard during the week as I will provision the boat accordingly. This is also the place for Crew change for those who can’t make it all the way.

Sunday August 3rd    We set sail in the morning and cruise the North shore of Kauai dropping anchor in a bay TBD

Monday August 4th  We sail across the channel to Ni’ihau dropping anchor along shore.

( access prohibited to shore as Ni’ihau is privately owned and do not allow visitors)

Tuesday August 5th  Sail back to Kauai ( Lihui, Port Allen or Harbor/Anchoring TBD subject to weather)

Wednesday August 7th   We set sail again From Kauai to Oahu Mid afternoon, sailing overnight and arriving next day.

THE LAST FEW DAYS WE GO WITH THE FLOW, AND COULD END UP STAYING A FEW EXTRA DAYS

Note: Plan to spend an extra day to help cleanup the boat.

If you are interested please read the attached requirements (read them well and understand before committing yourself as there are no exceptions)  if this is for you, then book ASAP to get your spot on the Boat, first in first served, and bunks are limited.  Dates are tentative and not confirmed until I get a commitment from all crew members.

In certain circumstances I will accept partial bookings, but please book now if interested as a trip requires a lot of planning, so the more time I get the better.

All sailing is based on weather and wind but generally we will start early in the morning, especially during channel crossings.

NOTE: the deposit can in certain circumstances be a check issued to me and not cashed unless you are a no show, in case you don’t have the finances to make the commitment.

Please make sure you read the requirements and start shopping for your own personal safety gear and foul weather gear if you don’t have any as this is offshore sailing and no exceptions will be made.
